Riley, the Black Lab

by John Collins
(Milltown, NJ)

I went to the local kennel one day and I found a magnificent Black Lab with the shiniest coat you ever saw. I paid $5.00 for him. We named him Riley.

He was the happiest dog you ever met. He loved people and life. We shared our lives with Riley for over 10 years. We loved taking Riley on vacations to the beach. We loved him so much. I used to whisper in his ear and say "God gave us a good Dog."

We lost Riley about three weeks ago. He was my best buddy. If I had to do it over again, I wish I could have a hundred dogs like him. I am so glad he was part of our family that we had his named engraved on the town clock!

Riley, you will live in our hearts forever. Till we met again my son.
