Young Penny

Penny, you were the best thing that ever happened to me. It was 17 years ago when we brought you home, our first dog, and we did not know what we were doing. You quickly settled in and we saw what a great spirit and heart you had.

You loved to play and run and walk and never complained, never caused problems, just gave us love. And we loved you, maybe more than you will ever know. We would do anything for you, just like you would do anything for us.

You knew the rules of the house without being told, you were clean as a whistle, except for all the shedding, which I did not mind. I was happy vacuuming every day if I had to because it was for you.

You helped me through my depressions and you helped Lorraine through her cancer. I don't know what I would have done without you.

Now you are gone and I cannot stop crying. Men are not supposed to cry but I am sensitive, as you know.

I hope you are in the place that God reserves for the best among us. You deserve it.

I love you. Mark

What a beautiful dog you had. She was very loved by the sounds of things. I am so sorry for your loss. It is the hardest thing ever. But what a great life she had with such a caring owner.

Mark, I hope my boy Monkey and your Penny are waiting for us wherever that may be. Penny looks like a beautiful, endearing, highly intelligent creature that would be easy to love.

I know you must love her as much as I love Monkey, just an enduring love that is almost overwhelming due to the loss.

I think of my boy every day, and can't believe I'm now alone. He was such a part of me.

I really truly hope we will all be reunited.
