Little Leo

by Lee
(Cape Town)

You were only four weeks old when you came to live with me. We shared every single day and every single night for 15 years. You went shopping with me, we ran errands together and we visited family together. We took long walks every day while you were able to. You helped me bear many of life's storms.

You were my everything — my best friend, my little boy, my heartbeat, and my reason to carry on.

You made me laugh with your goofy quirks. You were quite the entertainer. You were also a courgeous little guy who adapted to progessive blindness without losing your zest for life. I was so immensely proud of you.

We shared our days, our food and our love.

And now you are gone. I am bereft. I'm on a ship in a stormy sea with no land in sight. I am lost without you. I will miss you forever.

I hope you have found your litter mates to play with, and caring angels to love you and cuddle you until we can be together again. We will be together again.

I love you, my sweet baby boy.

No words can help your loss. We never get over losing them, never. But we are so blessed to have had them for the time we did, as they are pure love.
