Hey L'il Pup (Janey Goodgirl)

Been 14 months since your sweetness left us. Your memorial urn graces our bedroom where you used to sleep. Your pictures still grace our walls. There are memories of you wherever we walk.

There's a new little girl we rescued, who looks so much like you, walking throughout the house now. We weren't going to get another, but it was only because she did resemble you and we knew that was good.

We know you're looking down on us, guiding her too. As I did 14 months ago upon your passing, I type and weep. 19 years old. Everybody said to be grateful that you lived that long. We are, but we're selfish too. We wanted you here still.

I can picture you at God's feet, chewing on treats and waiting for us. Walking through grassy fields so proud, and swimming clean waters.

Someday, my l'il pup, we'll all be together again. Your mom and I miss you. Will always love you. You knew that ... you know. And we know you loved us.
