Lucy

Lucy (my best friend)

Lucy (my best friend)

Lucy was a black lab of 10 years. She died on 10/12/08 and even though it was and still is hard, my family and I know it was time for her to go. And now we just have to think she is in a better place and isn't in discomfort.

Lucy had a cancerous tumor on her heart. Tthe vet gave her two weeks to live, and she lived for three!

Lucy was my best friend and the sister I never had. I loved her very much and although it was tough to see her go, I know she is looking down on me from doggie heaven and watching and guiding me through whatever life may bring me.

Lucy, I love you and miss you very much!

I'm sorry

My Jazz had a brain tumor...seeing your lab reminded me of my own old girl. I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for your loss, our dogs are not just dogs they are our children, our family!

When I saw the picture of Lucy my heart dropped. She looks a lot like my beloved 13 year old lab (sporting the same pink collar). On November 5th I woke up to my Maggie "rustling" around. When I turned the lights on I knew we had major trouble, so quickly I knew this was the end.

The pain I feel is horrible...please tell me, is it going to get easier. Can I pet another dog without feeling like I've betrayed my Sweet Maggie May? Any advice is truly needed!

I know...

I also lost my darling 10 year old Schnauzer Olivier one day earlier, on October 11th. He would have turned 11 on October 23rd.

I miss him terribly and vow to never adopt another dog as its loss and pain is too much to bear. But I find that as time goes by, I cry less and less and can talk about him without breaking up in tears.

I have loving memories and I cherish those. Just thinking of him brings an automatic smile to my face. I think that we were blessed to have Lucy and Olivier in our lives. How fortunate!

Take heart!

By the way Lucy was a beautiful dog. Special thoughts for her!
