My Beautiful Dog

Dixie,

Having you in my life changed me for the better. I learned more from you than you ever learned from me. My life will never be the same again, and this house is quiet and lonely without you.

I cried until there were no more tears, and then I cried some more. You were laid to rest deep under the Wisteria tree that I planted from a seed. You were there when I planted it. My sweater is wrapped around your body, your head lies on a pillow, and you are wrapped again in your favorite quilt.

When your body returns back to the earth, pieces of me that are in my sweater will mix with you and we will pop up again together in another time and place. So look for me and I will look for you.

I love you with all my heart, Dixie. Until we meet again... Thank you for being my friend.
