Our Sammy

I will never forget the day that I first saw you. Floppy eared, head tilted, as if to say "can I please stay." We rescued you from a life of loneliness and neglect, and you repaid us with years of unconditional love, joy, laughter, and yes, sometimes exasperation at your crazy antics.
After 16 years together, our time to part has come, but we know that in heaven many people are waiting for you. You will always be our Sammy, and we will love you forever, just as we know that you loved us.
