Nahla (Na-Na), My Little Girl

Nahla, I love and miss you so much. I can't believe you're gone.

I'm sorry I let you down. I should have made sure you went peacefully, but I thought you were improving. Then it happened so fast.

You were always there for me no matter what - my best best friend. You never judged, you only listened and gave me kisses and your belly for a rub.

I keep thinking that I will see you pottering around the garden with your brother Simba, or sitting in your favourite spots inside, but all I see are empty, lonely spaces that reflect the emptiness I now feel inside.

I know that you're in a better place and I am happy that you are no longer suffering. I hope that one day I will see you again. I miss you and love you always my beautiful little girl, my Na-Na. 1998 - 2011

I hope you are reunited to Na-Na when you go to heaven as well. Na-Na will be waiting at the golden gates of Heaven, chewing on a celestial bone, and when you meet her again, she will be happy, no matter how long she has waited.
