My Best of Best Friends

by Dr. Timothy Hedges, Ph.D.

There is absolutely no way I could have imagined loving any animal as much as I love my dog, Ginger. She truly has been an Angel dressed in a dog's disguise. Today is most likely her final day.

She has been more than loyal, true, unconditionally loving...she is my soul mate, at least a mate for my soul! If you would have told me 9 years ago that I would love her as much as I do my daughter, I would have called you a liar, but today I am the one who will tell you that now.

I have already cried a thousand tears and will cry one-hundred thousand more for her. We are forever intertwined, she and I. I not only lose my Best Friend, I lose the Best of Best Friends I've ever had. Nonetheless, I know someday I will see her run from the Lord Jesus Christ's side and back into my arms only to never leave again forevermore.

I love you, my dear Ginger. Don't worry if you will ever stay in my heart or not because you hold my heart in your soul. As they say in the Cherokee language, "Da na da go hv!" English translation: "Until we meet again!"

Ginger

Ginger was such a very lucky girl when she visited earth because of you. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope all dogs have a taste of what Ginger experienced with you.
