My good boy was the highlight of my life. He was my very 1st dog at 32 years of age and remained my little puppy for almost 6 years! I miss him terribly!

Loyal, Affectionate, Caring, Protector, Demanding, and BIG BABY are characteristically BO!

Love you always, my noodie!!!

I Know How You Are Feeling

I just lost my GSD, Berin, two weeks ago. I've had shepherds all of my life and lost quite a few over the years. But I still have no idea how to ease the pain that dominates my life when one of them is no longer here.

I don't know what took your shepherd. Berin was 9 years old and had cancer diagnosed last December. When I was growing up too many years ago to count, my parents bought this book on German shepherds written by Mansfield Schalk.

"Keep your dog as long as he is happy and comfortable. Do everything you reasonably can to keep him that way. But when the sad time comes that he is sick, always uncomfortable, or in some pain, it is your obligation then to have him put to sleep. But you owe it to your old friend to allow him to go to sleep. And because you loved your old dog as much as you did, you'll pay him the greatest tribute. He proved to you that there's nothing quite so wonderful as a fine German shepherd, so in his honor you'll get another German shepherd as soon as you can. I think he'd like it that way."

And to say the least, that is easier said than done.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I lost my sweet baby girl Bella a few months ago, and it's been very difficult. I completely understand your loss. Hold on to the memories, keep them close to your heart.
