Everest Perry 2006-2008

He's my best friend.
He's my brother.
He's my Everest.

But these titles were not shattered, even when Everest was.

He was hit by a merciless, careless man speeding down the road. Everest was running out of the way, but he never made it to the other side of the street.

The car's front bumper hit Everest, breaking his vertebrae.

And poor Everest had to be put to rest, to keep him out of his misery.

My heart had broken into shards of piercing glass--healing it would be painful.

I remember fondly the times we shared, some bad, some great.

And I realize I took Everest's amazingly wonderful self for granted.

There I was, wasting the day away, just petting him, when I could've done all these things. I wish I could spend one last day with him, one last moment, to tell him I love him and I always will, no matter what.

I miss him incredibly.

Please pray for my buddy, my pal, my Everest.
