Dogs

There is nothing to compare to their love,
Nor nothing to compare to their devotion,
Only that from the Father above.

They raise their eyes,
And wag their tails,
Even after long goodbyes.

They are woven into our lives,
A weave that binds,
In our hearts their memory survives.

Why is the time so short?
Only if their lives were longer,
Then how much more would we need comfort?
