Bailey came to us out of the woods. A female border collie brought her out of the woods, dropped her, and went back into the woods. Ron, my husband, decided that if Bailey stayed around all day, he would bring her home; he defended her against a guy on his job who was going to kill her.
Bailey came home to me on Valentine's Day, just a handful of crosseyed spotted puppy, ugly as she could be. The black spots on her head and body were sparse, and she was just ugly! However, as time went by, she became fluffy and beautiful. She loved unconditionally and completely, and totally adored Ron.
We lost her a few months ago. She had diabetes, just like me, and I think she just gave up the fight. She wandered away (she had never, ever done that before) and we never found her again. Ron and I are completely heartbroken. I still, after several months, miss her every day. I hope I see her again in Heaven.
