Amber - My Heart

My heart...

My heart...

Dear Amber,

Thank you for "rescuing me" 4 years ago. It seems like the years have flown by since I first found you. I loved you from the moment I saw you.

You taught me patience. You were my mentor, personal trainer (although some folks would not agree), confidante and all around best friend.

There is a hole in my heart that aches every day for you. And while I know saying good-bye was the best thing for you, my ailing girl, I am so lonely for your gentle being.

I am forever changed. Please wait for me. My love to you always, pretty girl.

Ed,

Thank you for this...it really helps! It's been 10 days and I am just not bouncing back as quickly as I hoped. She went everywhere with me and every place I go...she is not there.

I know it will pass...in the meantime, I will keep this prayer close.

Rest in Peace, Amber

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. From your description, it's easy to see that Amber was a special, gentle soul and an Angel sent to you by God.

I too rescued (at least that's what I thought at the time) an Angel named Co Co in 2009. I lost her only two short years later to a devastating illness that money / medicine could not cure. Like you, my life had been transformed by her, and also like you, my heart was and still is, broken. In time, I hope you find peace.

Here is a special prayer especially for those special Angels.

A Parting Prayer

Dear Lord, please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge.

Assign her to a place of honor, for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me.

Bless the hands that send her to you,for they are doing so in love and compassion, freeing her from pain and suffering.

Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others.

Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her. And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise, please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together.

And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strength to give her to you now.

Amen.
