A Tribute to Boss

(Piermont, NY)

Boss, you were the first French Bulldog I took care of. You stole my heart the day I met you. You were just a little puppy with beautiful fur in a perfect shade of gray that matched also the color of your eyes. So expressive, so alive! Sweet and funny.

I will always remember how playful and smart you were, discovering the doggie world and learning to behave.

Your mom Donna and your daddy Chip named you Boss. Was it because you came to this world to rule their lives? Was it perhaps because you went to the office every day?

I am glad I stopped to see you Thursday morning, your last day on earth. You kissed me and we said goodbye.

I don't understand why you had to go to heaven. I think Daddy was calling your name and you had to go to give him company. I know Mommy needed you but perhaps your daddy needed you more.

Maybe he knew that in heaven you were going to be free again; free from illness and the pain it was causing you, and he knew you could run and chase other creatures again.

Your mom will miss you very much, and I will miss you too, Boss.
I am very glad that I was part of your short life and you were part of mine. A little piece of my heart will always have your name.

RIP July 9, 2012 - August 22, 2013

With love,
Angie, your sitter
