A creation so beautiful and ever so rare
Graciously given, just a while in my care

Sublime moments shared, etched deep in my soul
Beautiful memories that live in my heart for evermore

Truly a gift from up above
A glimpse I caught of eternal love

A life lived for others, giving unbounded love and joy
Gratefully accepting what’s given, never asking why

Always by my side, a faithful, gentle soul
O’ so cherished, loved and adored

The joy you brought each glorious day
Will in my heart forever stay

The tired old body could no longer bear
The pain and affliction of illness and wear

A burning sword hath pierced my soul
Days now pass in emptiness and sorrow

A light for now put out in my life
But the glow of your love remains ever so bright

He giveth and He taketh away
Grateful still, were it just for a day

Solace comes from knowing this:
You now live in eternal bliss

Watchful and waiting each day till late
For when at last I walk through those gates.
