Maui I Really Miss You

by Margie Dodson
(Apple Valley CA)

It's only been one day since I had to make that awful decision to have you put to sleep, and I really miss you. You were so young, only 4 1/2. We will never know what really happened to you. One minute you were playing ball with me, the next you didn't know me and you were so disoriented.

You weren't the best dog I've ever had, but you were by far the funniest. You played with an old plastic flower pot with such joy, you had a blast playing with 8 foot plastic drain pipes, and the howling every time the phone rang always made me laugh. They say Boxers are the clowns of the dog world, and you truly were.

Thank you for making me laugh every day of your life. I'm sorry it was such a short one. I will always be grateful that you were in my life.
