Kelly

Missing our Kelly's kisses so much. Kelly was born November 1998 and passed 10/6/2010. Our hearts are broken but the memories she has left us are what will heal us.

Kelly was the smartest and most loving dog we've ever had. Rest in peace, our special angel...

What we all have in common here is the love of our little companions. I suppose that's how we all found this beautiful site on the internet. I use the word "companion" because that is exactly what they are to us.

We humans have not paid attention to the over-breeding of our little loved ones. If you haven't visited an animal shelter of late, you might want to do this. I have visited 7 different animal shelters in the past week and what I saw there is very sad. All kennels are full, mostly with 4 to 5 dogs in each box.

Since losing our little Kelly too soon due to cancer, I made promise to her before she passed. That promise was that I would save a cousin of hers in her honor.

If you look into the eyes of a dog in a shelter, those eyes will tell you that they know their time is short. After seeing what I have seen at these shelters, I can never buy a dog from a breeder or a puppy mill. With all these little lives available to us, how could we not try to save one?

After I find our new little companion, I will get a bumper sticker that reads "My rescue dog rescued me." I want to save MANY, MANY.

To honor our little girl
by: Dan Yahnian

After Kelly's passing we've decided to adopt a shelter dog.

If you haven't seen what we've done to our dog population, you need to visit a shelter. It is sadder than sad. If you've lost a dog, please give a sheltered dog a chance for a new beginning.

I believe a rescue dog will rescue us, and maybe you too....

She is such a beautiful girl

I am sorry for your loss. We too have endured losses over the years. It hurts to the bone. The love you had with Kelly continues with your wonderful memories of her.

Thank you for posting this beautiful picture and memorial.
