Tater <3

It's only been a couple months, not even a year. As I sit here, holding your collar, smelling your old familiar smell, I miss you more than words can describe. I'm crying, so hard, because you were my best friend. You loved me so much, and I had never loved anything so much.

Losing you so unexpectedly was so painful, especially since I was in the hospital. I had no time to say goodbye, I had no goodbye with you. I hold on to you, every day. You were the best dog in the world. You had this smile that no dog has. You were the happiest dog, and when you saw me, you lit up.

I thank you for teaching me what real love is. How to really love something, unconditionally. You were my "bubba," and I love you so much. I hope you're happier, which to think is impossible.

Just know something crazy boy, we are not over. I will be seeing you again, I promise.

I lost my dog 10 weeks ago. She was just 3 years old. She was run over while chasing a deer, something she loved to do. I too am heartbroken, but your words make me realise I am not alone in feeling the loss of a dog. I cried at your words, words which reflect how I feel.

I hope you find peace soon. xx
