Sweet Lily

Our sweet dog Lily passed away this morning. We loved her so much and will miss seeing, kissing, and loving on her.

Silver Ridge-Lily Allen, was born on December 22, 2003 and passed away peacefully, sitting on the front lawn under the morning sun, from cancer on August 28th, 2014.

She is pre-deceased by her Pit Bull Mom, Pearl, and her Bull Mastiff Dad, Mugsy. She is survived by her human parents Andy and Katie. Also, survived by her human sister Maggie and brother Sam, and her dog brother Butterball.

Lily was our first baby. She was the cutest and tiniest black puppy. She was a very spunky and feisty dog in her younger years. Until her human sister Maggie was born, she really didn't like kids. That all changed after Maggie was born.

Lily became Maggie's protector and best friend. When Sam was born, he became protected by Lily as well.

Lily loved chasing squirrels, and had been known to stand guard at the base of the tree, barking for hours. She loved running through the fields, begging for people food, going on car rides, chasing four wheelers, cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds, cuddling with her humans, and being scratched. If you stopped, she would nudge you until started again. :)

The last few years she started showing her age and started moving much slower.

Lily was a free spirit. She never knew what it was like to be tied up. She was able to run free through the fields and woods. Her belly was always full. Always had a safe and comfortable place to call home. As much as we all loved her, I think she loved all of us more. She was kind, sweet, protective and so very smart.

In honor of Lily and our love for her and her love for us, I challenge everyone reading this to give your fur babies some extra love and maybe a plain cheeseburger from the drive thru at Mcdonalds in honor of our sweet Lily.
