Flash, my 13 year old bassett hound, died suddenly of bloat a year ago. I miss him so much. I cry every day.

He came to me at 5 weeks old with no stomach lining and the vet thought he wouldn't make it through the night, but he was a fighter and pulled through.

For 13 years he was by my side night and day. He was a real character, a joy to be with.

I am so very grateful he came into my life.

Flash, you left your paw prints on my heart forever.

Lucy Lou 1999 to 2011

I am so sorry for your loss. We lost Lucy, our 12 year old Bassett, last week. 12/28/2011. I cry every day and miss her so much.
It all happened so fast and I find myself thinking about the final moments of her life.

They are the sweetest dogs! I keep waiting for the click clicks of her nails on my kitchen tile floor in the morning. Her sweet welcome when we come home from work. She was my best friend too. I feel your pain!!!

We need to remember and be grateful for how much time and love our beloved basset hounds gave to us - 12 and 13 years old is amazing. It's never long enough. I lost by darling only 2 weeks ago today and am really struggling to comes to terms with the grief, loss and emptiness as the end was so sudden. We have been blessed to have known, loved and been loved by such beautiful animals.

Wow 13 years old! I lost my basset just over a week ago. She was 12. I am still crying buckets
