Abby

For the first time in 26 years, today, I no longer own a dog. My dear, faithful Abby, who was brought home two months before my 11 year old golden retriever Alex died, had to be put down this morning, after blessing my home with her love for the past 15 years.

Our hearts are broken, but I know if there is a heaven for dogs, she is chasing rabbits with her "sister" Alex, and they are running together again, through sun-filled meadows, where there are never fleas, or ticks, or cats that steal your food when you aren't on guard.
