A Goodbye to a Sweet Little Dog

Scrappy passed away today. She was 11. She was a rescue angel dachshund jack russel mix and the light of many people's eyes. Her joy with life was intoxicating.

She was an amazing runner, often participating in 5K runs with her humans - and she knew the commands of right, left and on trail. She sprinted to the finish line with the best of them.

Squirrels were never safe - not even in trees as she was quite capable of climbing trees after them. In fact, her first significant injury was when she fell out of a tree.

She loved to snuggle in bed. Anyone's bed would do at times. I still laugh when my neighbor told me she jumped through the window and would curl up in bed with her.

Scrappy was my constant companion and my best friend. I will forever miss my sweet girl.

Goodbye Scrappy. I hope you meet my Kopi somewhere. He's as sweet and kind as you are and her mother looks just like you.
